Alright, so I’m gonna go to sleep. I haven’t gotten a lot of sleep this past week so I’m about to go catch up.
If you’re interested, I posted a few pictures of Darren from Thursday’s show on my photo blog. (hannacrowleyphotography). Check it out if you’d like! I’ll probably be uploading more tomorrow!
For now, goodnight!

My answer:I have the most amazing mom who was willing to let me go to all of them! I bought tickets for all of the shows the day they went on sale, before I knew Darren was going to any of them. :)
Alright, here we go. I don’t even know what I’m writing about this time. There’s one major thing I need to discuss, but as usual I will go in chronological order.
Last time I told you that Meredith tweeted me, correct? Okay, so this morning I also realized that Nicholas Kusnir tweeted me too! He said “I’m guessing you were the Hanna we were looking for -__- .” I guess they were literally really trying to fine me.. Woops, sorry! Anyway, we actually tweeted back and forth a few times during the day.
So I got to the venue and my mom dropped me off so I could get in line while she parked. I found some people I knew from Tuesday and talked with them. I was meeting other people I met on Tuesday so I texted them where I was and all that jazz.
Meanwhile my mom was trying to figure out what she was gonna do. Last night she reserved a table so she could have a real seat for tonight. Something got messed up and I don’t even know but basically Starkid’s manager gave my mom two wristbands to go in the Friends and Family section of the music hall. She also bought these tickets that got us a buffet dinner and early entrance to the show.
My mom called me and told me this so I went to meet up with her. I felt bad leaving my friends but it’s mostly okay because I met up with some of them later!
Anyways, we went in for the buffet dinner thing, the food was kind of bland and just okay-ish. But I had a really good can of Sprite! :P After we ate we lined up in the same place we did for the Crystal Skull tickets. It actually kinda sucked cause we waited there for about an hour and didn’t get to go in until about 6:35 ish.
While we were waiting a few things happened. I don’t remember which happened first but it doesn’t really matter. One of the things was Nicholas Kusnir tweeting me again. He said something like ‘say hi to Darren for me.’ At this point I wasn’t entirely sure who he was, I thought he was affiliated with Starkid somehow, he actually might be and I’m embarrassing myself right now, but I don’t really know. Anyway, my mom, friends and I had been thinking that there was gonna be a chance for me to meet Darren with my whole signing thing with Meredith and stuff. So his reply tweet made me kinda happy in case that would happen.
Also, two very cool people showed up. Riker Lynch and Curt Mega! They just pulled up to valet like normal, got out, they were super cool to the people waiting. They took pictures and stuff. Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture with them but I got alovelypicture of the back of Riker! (sarcasm, btw) So yeah, I also saw them once we got in the venue, they were sitting in the balcony. :)
So when we finally went in I sort of ran to the stage. I managed to get pretty close to the stage on the right side, super close to where I was last night. Pretty soon my friends came in and we all started talking and whatever.
I don’t know how long we had been in there when the most amazing thing happened. My friend Jones had been going to the bathroom or something, I don’t even know, but she wasn’t in the huge mass of people. I hear my name called and I look up to see her standing with Nick Lang. I look to him and he holds up the manilla folder that I gave to Meredith yesterday. Which obviously only means one thing, Nick is holding Darren’s autograph.
I push and shove my way to where they’re standing and Nick opens it up and shows it to me. I take it and ask him for a hug. He hugs me and I thank him a billion times. Everyone was asking me what had happened and stuff, so I tried to tell them before I went back the table where my mom was at to give it to her for safe keeping and to freak out a little bit with her.
Really quickly about the drawing-thing itself. The virtual version reached 54k notes today, like I was hoping it would. And the one that he signed. He wrote on it and signed it. If anyone really wants me to I’ll think about postiing a photo of the signed version. :)
But anyway, it’s just so perfectly Darren and I can’t believe it actually happened. I honestly don’t care that I didn’t get to meet him. Obviously I would have liked to but I’m just so happy that Meredith and Nick were able to get it for me. It just makes me so happy. :D <3
Darren didn’t do his own set but he came on to do “Skin and Bones” with Charlene. And he was wearing a Michigan t-shirt. <3 Ahhh, Darren, I dare you to be more perfect.
Then Starkid went on. The entire show was great. I’m not gonna go into detail now because information like that is probably already all over the internet, I’m really tired, and I may have described stuff on previous nights.
But I loved that Darren kinda tried to keep up with everyone else, with the acting and dancing part of it. But then he got to a certain point where he just seemed not to care what he was supposed to be doing. To me it made him look like he was saying “I’m with my best friends again, with a non-judgemental audience, I can do whatever the heck I want!”
One thing that was great was when (((SPOILER ALERT))) Jamie is reading the tablet and she says one of the Dikrats will be consumed by a giant fox Darren goes “that doesn’t even make any sense!” I was secretly hoping and wishing he would say something like that. And he did, so yay!
The set list stayed pretty much the same but they added solos for Darren to sing, i.e. “To Have a Home,” “Status Quo,” etc. He sounded so great on all of the songs he sand. He also sang part of (((SPOILER ALERT))) “Days of Summer” which made me really happy.
Oh! His costume! You could kinda tell that it was put together kinda quickly. I only say that because his shirt was actually white, not like the others’ kinda “used” colored shirts. He was wearing a white shirt and tie, shorts and knee high socks. And he was wearing glasses!
I spent most of the time trying to get pictures of Darren, honestly. I got really good pictures of everyone else on the other days.
Okay, so yeah. That’s kinda it for the show. It was SO,SO, SO good!
I tried stage-dooring. I really wanted to meet Darren. Long story short, I didn’t meet him but I honestly don’t even care. I still got to see him perform live twice and I have his autograph on a very personalized thing.
I saw all of them loading their equiptment into their trailers. I know they must’ve been dead-tired after their show and I felt bad just standing there watching them do all of this work but I couldn’t really do anything.
I talked to Joey, Dylan, Lauren, Meredith and Joe as they were walking out. The first three just “hi,” “bye” or “good job” as they were walking by but when I talked to Meredith she stopped and really talked to me for like a minute. I thanked her again for getting me the Darren thing. She said something about being out there last night shouting “Hanna! Hanna!” but then realizing I wasn’t there. So yeah, I thanked her again. :) And then when Joe was done loading stuff he came up to the line that we had formed facing where they were. He said he couldn’t take pictures but that he wanted to meet all of us. He shook everyone’s hands but I asked him for a hug and he hugged me! Yay!
Basically, after that, I went back to find my mom at valet and withing five minutes we were on our way out. Their busses were gone so obviously they weren’t there anymore. Joey was actually still over by the valet talking to people but I didnt go over there cause I was really tired and because I already have two pictures with him.
Yeah. I feel like I’m forgetting something but I know it’ll come back to me eventually. I’m just really tired right now. It’s almost 2AM and I have school at 8.
So with that I will bid you adieu. I had such an incredible time at all four of the Starkid shows I went to. I am the luckiest girl in the world (who has the best mom in the world). It’s still hard for me to believe I saw Darren twice and I have his autograph and the pen he used (which was mine, btw).
Alright. That’s all! Goodnight, sleep tight, always let the Darren dream bugs bite! :P

Did Darren leave right after the show? Did anyone go up to him? There were a lot of people at valet so I am just curious! Thanks for sharing your story!!!!
My answer:I’m actually kind of amazed people read my rant about the show. I wrote it as a journal type thing so thank you for reading it!!
I don’t know what time he left but I know it wasn’t right after. I waited around after the show to talk to Nick Lang and I had been waiting at valet for a while when Darren came out. I didn’t see anyone go up to him, they seemed to either not notice him, be respectful of him or they were in complete shock.
It seems like you were there last night too, waiting at valet like the rest of us. But there were fewer people waiting when Darren came out. I’m just still in shock from everything last night. :D
Today is one of the greatest days of my life. So many great things it’s hard for me to think about it all.
Let’s start at the beginning, shall we? In this case the beginning is a few months ago. There’s a quote that Darren said on Glee that I really, really loved. I decided to draw/write it out and put it on tumblr. Since then it has gotten over 53,800 notes. So, that’s pretty fantastic. (It’s right here if you wanna see it.)
Anyway, last night I printed it out and got a purple sharpie in hopes of having Darren sign it today when I went through the signing line. (I’m planning on putting it in my room which is decorated in black, white and purple.) Turns out Darren wasn’t part of the signing line but I gave it Meredith and asked her to give it to Darren.
I also gave Meredith a bag full of these brownie cupcakes that my mom and I make that have a Reeses peanut butter cup stuck in the middle of it. On Tuesday during the meet and greet Meredith and I had been talking about the fan-challenge pinata, getting Resses and my brownies, so I made them and brought some today. In the bag with the brownies I put a little note that said “Made with love by Hanna” and I put my twitter username.
Anyways, back to the story. So yeah, I gave Meredith the folder with the paper in it and told her that it was Darren’s quote and it had this many notes and blah blah blah.
I went through the rest of the signing line and it was really cool because Charlene, Dylan and Joey all recognized me which is really, really cool to me. Meredith recognized me too, btdubs, that may have been obvious but I don’t really know.
Moving on, I saw Liam again and thanked him for giving me Charlene’s set list yesterday. And we fist bumped. :)
Pretty soon Nick Lang comes out to operate the camera literally right in front of me. (I was lucky enough to be in the very front again, this time on the far right side.) So like all of us were kinda freaking out a little, not in a weird way but like “look! it’s him!” kind of way. We all started talking to him, a bunch of people (including myself) took pictures with him, he pinky-swore to be BFFs with one girl, he had a thumb war with another, overall he was just super cool and nice and friendly.
So then the show began. I really thought Darren was gonna go on after Charlene and before Starkid but he actually came out first. He walked out when this huge projection screen was still covering the stage. We could only see his feet but we knew it was him. His legs were very Blaine-esque, I have to say. Short pants and no socks. :P
Anyway, he was like seven feet away from me. SEVEN FEET. I was freaking out so much inside, I wanted to scream and cry and all of this stuff like crazy. Like, seriously. SERIOUSLY. So yeah, he played some songs and sounded so absolutely perfectly wonderfully amazing and fantastic. His hair was so curly and he had all this scruff going on. He sounded so incredible. I know I just said that but it was so great.
He played guitar and piano. He went to the further side of the stage to play piano and there was a mic stand in the way for me to see but like I said, he sounded so great. Just so great.
Enough about Darren sounding wonderful. Charlene Kaye came out and was wonderful, as always. You probably know this already, but she is so talented. So, so talented. Her last song was “Dress and Tie” with Darren. People went crazy when he came back out and this time he was pretty much right in front of me, just a little to my left. They sound so good together it’s crazy. That’s all I’m gonna say about that so I don’t go on forever and ever.
The show itself was wonderful! I really love the (((SPOILER ALERT))) Sami/Harry mash-up. I know they’re pretty much the same song so it makes sense that they go well together, but there’s just something about hearing both songs at the same time that’s really cool.
Just as an fyi, btdubs, I’m 99.9% sure Darren was sitting up in the balcony with some other people watching the show. I’m pretty much certain it was him. During his set he said something about being able to be in a room with all of the people that you love and I can just imagine how proud he is of them.
I almost forgot! Random factoid, he sang “To Have A Home” and said something about the fact that he had just gotten home today and that could mean LA, it could mean being with Starkid. Regardless, it was great.
Okay, so the concert was great. Afterwards I waited to talk to Nick Lang again. I told him again about the drawing I gave to Meredith and I asked if there was any way I’d be able to get it back. He told me that I should be able to get it at tomorrow’s show from either the box office or one of them if I could find them. Knowing that I’d be able to get it made me so, so happy. I had to tell myself that it still may not happen but like I texted my friend, I just really appreciate the fact that they’re willing to do whatever they can for their fans. :)
Speaking of texting my friend, I had been texting her freaking out about seeing Darren and just the show in general. As my mom and I waited for our car at the valet I was reading all of the texts to my mom. All of a sudden she stops me and basically tells me that Darren is walking right in front of me. I was like freaking out trying to decide if I should try to talk to him or what. I took a few steps forward the way he was walking but then turned around cause I had no idea what I was going to say, I didn’t want to embarrass myself and I didn’t want to freak him out. So I just went back to where my mom was and continued freaking out via text with my friend. But I was like two or three feet away from him. That is so incredible I can’t even put it into words.
Okay. This is where it gets intensely cool. (hehe see what I did there?) So my mom and I were driving home, she was talking to my aunt (who I had just called thanking her for buying me the tickets andd freaking out with cause I was like three feet away from him) and I was messing on my phone. All of a sudden I get a text from twitter. As soon as I read it I start freaking out so much. I practically screamed “MEREDITH TWEETED ME” at my mom.
I still can’t really believe she tweeted me. She tweeted me “ I have completed your task but you left! Will u be here tomorrow??” and I flipped out. I started crying and smiling like an idiot at the same time. Like, I still can’t even put it into words. Basically, Meredith got Darren to sign something for me. Something I made about him and his character. And she tweeted me- like she initiated the tweet, it wasn’t even a reply to my tweet- and I’m gonna be able to get it tomorrow. I’m just so happy. I don’t know how I’m gonna get it but I just know that it’s going to be great.
I’m so excited that I get to see Darren again tomorrow, performing for the whole show, and I get Darren’s autograph. It’s so surreal for me but it’s just so great.
I really have to go to bed, it’s already 1AM and I have a test in seven hours but I don’t even care because I am so happy. Today has been the best day ever. <3
PS: Evanna Lynch was there. :)
Ohmygod. Literally the most fun I’ve had in a single night. It’s hard for me to even process what all has happened today. It was just incredible.
I had Crystal Skull tickets for today’s show. I missed the Glee finale (and still haven’t seen it, so please don’t spoil anything) and it was so totally, completely worth it.
Basically, my mom and I got there (yes, I went with my mom again because I don’t have any Starkid friends) and met some really cool people in line. I hung out with them all night and got some of their URLs. If you’re not following them please do so now. They are Erica (willtana) and Jenny (fortheluvofglee). They’re so totally awesome. :)
Anyways. So. I met them. I met all of them. And it was incredible. Just incredible. I got pictures with Dylan, Jim, Joey and Meredith. I asked Dylan if they could poop on their busesandhe gave me an answer. ;) Dylan also told me a secret about the show that nobody else knows, so Imma go ahead and keep that to myself. :) Oh! And I hugged Dylan. Dylan gives really good hugs. I love Dylan.
And Meredith touched my hair and I touched her hair. Sounds weird, I know.
And then I took the picture of all of them which you can find here. The theme was “crazy hearts,” just so you know. :)
And then the signing line was great.
Then I spent an hour and a half waiting for Charlene to come on. I talked about everything Starkid, Glee, Darren, etc. with Erica and Jenny and the other people I met there.
Charlene was amazing, again! Her and Dylan did “Dress and Tie” and it was just one of the greatest things ever. My face literally hurt from smiling so much. I don’t think I’ve ever smiled that big. :D
At the end of her set someone through one of the set lists into the crowd. Liam got another one off the stage and gave it to someone. A few minutes later he came out and literally handed me the set list. Like, he went backstage just to get the list and he gave it directly to me. Like, ME. I was so friggin happy about that.
Then they started and THEY WERE SO FREAKING GOOD AGAIN LIKE I CAN’T EVEN. It was so incredible because I was with people I knew. Like, we totally bonded over the three hours we waited. On Saturday it was still a ton of fun just being surrounded with people like me, but I actually know these people now. I could look over to them and smile like an idiot because I know we’re both thinking the same thing, does that make sense?
And also, I was literally front and center. Like, it doesn’t get better than where I was. It was just so, so incredible.
And (((SPOILER ALERT))) I got to keep a beach ball from their last song!!!
But wait, there’s more. Charlene came out after the show to draw on tote bags. She would draw whatever you wanted so I asked her to draw her and Darren singing in the music video for “Dress and Tie.” I’ll post a photo later, but ohmygod, it the cutest, most perfect, most adorable drawing I’ve ever seen. It’s just perfect. I also had her sign my program and set list. :)
That’s about it for tonight! I cannot wait for tomorrow. Yesterday, when they announced that Darren was gonna be there, my mom suprised me by buying Golden Idol tickets, so I get to meet Darren. I. GET TO MEET. DARREN FREAKING CRISS. I literally started crying when she told me. Meredith said that he should be doing the signing line with them, so hopefully I’ll get the chance to meet him and have him sign my glasses! If not, I still get to see him live! <3
Alright, I need sleep. Goodnight! :)
With Team Starkid!
It was so amazing. Just. Amazing.
I got home from the show yesterday and had a bunch of stuff to do then I went to bed really early, therefore I didn’t post this yesterday. I’m not sure if anyone really wants to read about my experience, but whatever. :)
Okay, so it was incredible. I honestly don’t even know how to put it into words.
I got there just a little before eleven (the show was at noon o’clock). I wasn’t shocked by the number of people in line (I wanna say about 400-500, but I’m an awful judge of that sort of thing), however, I have to say that I loved seeing people like me. That sounds ridiculous but none of my friends like Starkid. They’d never dress up like Batman and Robin or Dumbledore. They don’t get the blue head bands and the sunglasses and the Redvines. It was just nice being with people thatgotthe same things I did, regardless of the fact that I didn’t actually know them.
Anyway, while we were waiting some of them came out to thrown T-shirts at the crowd or take pictures. I’m not sure who all came out, I’m pretty sure Jamie did, maybe Brian Rosenthal? It doesn’t even matter who they were, we all went crazy.
I was there with my mom so when we got inside she got a table upstairs and I went down to the mass of bodies downstairs. Like I said, I got there kinda late and there were hundreds of people in front of me, but because the House of Blues is a small-ish venue I could still see the stage really well.
I sorta made friends with three girls from Glendale and I talked to them before the show started and in between Charlene Kaye and Starkid. I didn’t get to talk to them after, which sucks, but if by any chance any of you are reading this (I don’t know why you would be, but still) message me and we can talk and stuff. :)
But okay, Charlene Kaye came on and she was so great. Unfortunately I don’t know a whole lot of her songs but it was still really fun!
Then they started. I’m not gonna say exactly what happened just in case someone is reading this and they don’t want to get spoiled. BUT THEY WERE SO GOOD. Like, just seeing them live made it all so real. I’ve seen their shows, I’ve listened to their music, I’ve stalked their twitters, but there’s something about seeing them in person and breathing the same air as them that just makes them all the more special.
I was super duper happy with their set list, too. The whole thing was just incredible. I can’t even think of words to describe it all. Just… fun. It was fun. I didn’t know a single person there but I still felt like I was part of a family.
So after the show my mom and I went to a restaurant right across from the House of Blues. Since it was in Downtown Disney it was kinda like a strip-mall/shopping center set-up.
Literally just as we were paying the bill, Joey walks out of the building with his family. (I’m assuming it was his family.) A few people recognized him and this one girl started silently freaking out to herself. I told my mom that it was him and she told me that I should go talk to him or something but I felt really bad since he was with his family. (I’m also sort of a chicken when it comes to talking to people that I admire.)
We ended up walking on the other side of the planter as him (don’t worry, I wasn’t stalking him, it was in the same direction as the parking lot) until he stopped at a restaurant. I saw other fans were talking to him and taking pictures with him so I took the bull by the horns and went over to meet him.
There was another girl in front of me who took a picture with him and when she was done he turned back to his family and started talking or whatever. I felt really bad interrupting him but I said hi and asked him for a picture. He hesitated saying yes (I think there were more people making a line behind me, I don’t even really know) but then he just shrugged and nodded his head and was like “yeah, yeah” and he smiled. So then my mom took a picture of us (I’m gonna post it tomorrow, probably) and then I told him that the show was really great.
Then he went back and did his thing and my mom and I left and I just kept freaking out because I MET JOEY RICHTER. JOEY FREAKING RICHTER. RON FREAKING WEASLEY. I mean, I have Crystal Skull for their first show in LA but still, like, I’ve never met someone in a non-formal setting and it was just really cool. :D
The whole thing was just so great and exciting and amazing and I can’t believe I get to do it all over again. <3
